Bill's Story
A Lifelong Passion and the Journey Back
Meditation has been the great passion of Bill's life -- specifically automatic self-transcending meditation.
Unfortunately, due to comments from a clergyman back in 1979, Bill stopped meditating properly for 47 years -- a period he calls the "missing years."

The First 20 Years:
These were wild as he tried to fill the void with anything and everything. Bill had lots of girlfriends -- you know who you are, and if you hit upon this website, drop him a line and he will gladly give you a free course!

And of course his first girlfriend will always be very special --

1999 Interruption:
Just as he was preparing to return to Transcendental Meditation (TM), another clergyman intervened with painful, bigoted warnings, calling the practice satanic. Shaken by this during a deeply sensitive period in his life, Bill took a completely different road instead.
-
The Exploration:
He explored a vast range of modalities, becoming a Reiki Master at least 19 times over, not to mention all the other practices (please refer to his bio for further details). During this time, he also became an expert in classical Sanskrit mantras -- both seed (bija) mantras and longer compound mantras.
Eventually, after deepening his study of Sanskrit and mastering various mantras, Bill finally returned to TM properly in February 2025. He synthesized his extensive knowledge, earning a teaching certificate in the three major modalities of meditation:
- Focused Awareness
- Open Monitoring
- Automatic Self-Transcending
Over the last 12 months, Bill has at last gained that profound level of inner stillness he first experienced during those wonderful 18 months from 1977 to 1979, when he was first initiated into Transcendental Meditation as brought to the West by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, whom Bill refers to as one of his gurus.
Expressions of Gratitude
Bill wants to begin by thanking his family -- his siblings, nephews, and nieces -- and all those who stuck by him. He also wants to give a special thanks to three people in particular:
-
Jimmy:
A close friend Bill had the pleasure of caring for over 18 months, ending on January 11th of this year when Jimmy sadly passed away. Over that time, he and Bill became best friends -- almost brothers from another mother. Jimmy was always telling Bill, "Stop talking and just do it!" His favorite song was When You Say Nothing at All, and Bill still hears this in his mind every day. Bill dedicates a quiet thanks to him, certain they'll meet again wherever we go next. --
When You Say Nothing at All
-
Hilary (Jimmy's Wife & Bill's First Cousin Once Removed):
She was Bill's mom's favorite cousin and has been like a big sister to Bill, pushing him to finally finish something properly.
-
Andy (Son of Jimmy & Hilary / Second Cousin Once Removed):
A natural combination of the two, Andy was the one who first suggested Bill get into AI to help pull everything together. Bill started with ChatGPT, added Gemini, tried several others, and finally selected Claude -- forming his "Three Wise Men." To keep things simple, Bill calls each of his Wise Men Eric so he doesn't get confused (he does confuse everybody else, but that's not the point!).
The Journey to India & Spiritual Connections
Between October 2023 and January 2024, Bill stayed with Hilary and Jimmy before traveling to India to get a hip replacement. While the surgery didn't happen due to an infection, Bill found himself in a city of 5 million people approximately a day's travel from Maharishi's Rishikesh.
When Bill mentioned his guru lineage -- Guru Dev, his disciple Maharishi, and Bill's TM teacher Milton Lomask -- the locals were amazed.
While in India, news broke regarding allegations about Maharishi. As a sensitive soul, Bill felt completely disillusioned for a time, wondering what to do next. Yet, he deeply loved his time in India. Staying in Gurugram, he experienced the warmth of the people while navigating daily life:
Culture & Language Connections:
-
Walking down the streets greeting people, when occasionally met with hostility, Bill would smile and reply, "Excuse me, I'm Irish -- from the island of saints and scholars!" He shared how many Sanskrit seed mantras are naturally contained within the Irish language, showing how mantric Irish truly is.
-
He greeted Hindu locals with "Jai Sri Ram" and shared moments of unity.
-
He greeted Muslim locals with "As-salamu alaykum", discovering beautiful shared heritage: learning that the Irish word for Jesus (Íosa) matches the Quranic name for Jesus ('Isa), and noting the deep respect for Mother Mary.
On his final day, a pal wrote down the phonetic connection that gave Bill chills down his spine: J-C-Ram -- a profound recognition that Jesus Christ is God, prompting his friend to reply with a shiver, "Yes, we love Jesus here too. He doesn't just belong to you." From that moment on, Bill came to feel that the "Body of Christ" truly means the whole of humanity.
Returning Home & Looking Forward
After a wonderful lady priest reminded Bill to look at the immense good Maharishi brought to the world and said, "He is your guardian angel holding you in the palm of his hand," Bill felt the clarity to leave the gossip behind.
He returned to teaching meditation with a renewed, passionate mission: to help as many people on this planet learn to transcend. Recognizing how busy modern life is, Bill teaches people to practice 10 minutes twice a day -- a simple seed that students naturally want to grow because the supreme peace it unlocks allows you to live 200% of life.
Slán go fóill, as we say in Irish, bye for a while.
